“We deserve.”
Anna DeShawn is a powerhouse and a poet, on her way to becoming a media mogul.
Born and raised in Chicago’s south side, Anna didn’t allow herself to question her sexuality until college. Living her truth as a queer Black woman meant also realizing that if she wanted to be in “The Room Where It Happened,” she would have to open the door to a whole new room. Her newest project, The Qube, is a curated media platform for BIPOC and QTPOC musicians and podcasters.
“The Qube is a place for people to be inspired by the various ways Black, Brown, QTPOC people show up in the world. Life attempts to put us in boxes and limit us to particular labels, but inside The Qube we are three-dimensional. We are showing our depth & breathe by speaking our truth, sharing our wisdom, and spreading our joy.”
